No Shortage of Camping in Sisters, OR
Our homeland of Sisters, Oregon has multiple camping options ranging from campgrounds with creeks cutting through, to RV parking, to dispersed forest camping.
We are surrounded by thousands of acres of forest land – the Deschutes National Forest is literally in our backyard. Folks can camp for FREE up to 14 days! The only requirements are that you be good stewards to our home by honoring the leave no trace policy, in other words:
- No Fires. Not even a BBQ! August is the height of our fire season so having a fire is not only illegal, but it puts our livelihood at risk.
- Pack it in, pack it out. Come prepared with trash bags to collect as you go and dispose of your trash in appropriate locations after your time in the woods.
- Hydrate with extra H2O! Sometimes Central Oregon can seem like a striking oasis, but make no mistake, you are in the desert! Be sure to have a good supply of water on hand at your camping area.
If you are looking for something a bit more developed, there are some fabulous campgrounds a short drive from town.
- Indian Ford Campground: Large ponderosa pines and sweet smelling bitter brush surround you in this 13-site camping area. There are vault toilets available and if you are into hiking, some great trails pass right through the campground.
- Cold Springs Campground: Aspen groves quiver in the breeze as the creek trickles by. A small spring, the camps namesake, has clear crisp water safe to drink. Vault toilets and 22 sites to choose from make this spot a local favorite.
Just looking for a place to park your RV or camper for the weekend? Throughout town are multiple designated RV parking areas.
Camping is budget friendly and gives you an opportunity to experience what’s so special about this place. With all these options you are sure to find your spot and feel right at home among our community.
